nothing less. Star journalists are held in the highest regard for their integrity, accuracy and relentless pursuit of news stories that need telling.


Paul Hunter and Jim Rankin

Paul Hunter has been a reporter at the Toronto Star for 26 years. For most of that time, he worked in sports where he covered five Olympics and enjoyed two or three years of good hockey as the Maple Leafsí beat writer for two decades. He moved to the paperís features team in 2011.

Jim Rankin is a reporter-photographer at the Toronto Star. He specializes in investigations, data journalism and features. His work has been nominated for seven National Newspaper Awards and in 2002 he was part of a team involved in the Michener Award-winning investigative series into race, policing and crime in Toronto. His photography and multimedia work have been recognized by the U.S. National Press Photographers Association, Society for News Design, News Photographers Association of Canada and the Online Journalism Awards.
